Sarah Rohrer, LCSW

Who am I?

I am a licensed clinical social worker with 12 years of experience in the medical, hospice, and palliative care fields. I received my Masters in Social Work from Columbia University.  I specialize in grief and bereavement counseling, life transitions, and perinatal mental health. It’s an honor to walk alongside my clients as they navigate challenging seasons in life.

I love working with:

  • Adults experiencing loss of a loved one
  • Adult caregivers of individuals with chronic or life limiting illnesses
  • Individuals/families working through new diagnoses of chronic and/or life limiting illnesses.
  • Individuals receiving hospice care and their family members.
  • Adults experiencing symptoms of depression and anxiety.
  • Postpartum moms juggling life and career, struggling with identity and motherhood

Some of my favorite approaches include:

I use a collaborative and holistic approach with my clients. I practice from a humanistic perspective using narrative therapy, motivational interviewing, elements of CBT and DBT as well as a psychodynamic lens. I work with clients to set achievable goals and navigate them together. I am a huge advocate of self care – figuring out what that means for each client and how to successfully integrate into their busy lives.
