I love working with:
People who want to address the root of their symptoms. All people, no matter the age, can have obstacles in their lives that are keeping them from experiencing life to its fullest. As a therapist, my goal is to help them identify the obstacles and then develop skills to overcome them. As a person, it is an honor that they would allow me to accompany them on that journey.
Some of my favorite approaches include:
For me, it is essential to meet my clients where they are. All of my approaches are client centered and empirically supported. Some of my favorite approaches include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Somatic approaches that make the mind-body connection. With children, I feel it is essential to include play in therapy. For clients at risk for suicide I use the CAMS framework.
