Lisa Wolanzyk, LCSW

Who am I?

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker committed to help others live fulfilling, rewarding lives. For the past 30 years, I’ve worked in various settings to include education/training, residential treatment for juvenile delinquents, inpatient and outpatient treatment, private practice, corrections/incarcerated, and geriatric/assisted living.  I worked for the military as a Health Promotion Educator/ Director for CHPPM-PAC, under the Surgeon General in Korea, training soldiers to be healthier and mission ready.  I gained more experience working with the military in the substance abuse field state-side.  As a military spouse (now retired), with lots of moves (PCS’s), I understand the challenges families face with deployments, lack of family and/or social support, and learning to do things you never thought you wou;ld!  I enjoy public speaking at christian retreats and leading family military support groups as well.  From my experience, I learned that seeing results and meeting goals are important.  So, I often incorporate teaching (when needed) to help you be the healthiest version of yourself you can be!

I believe everyone needs to be heard without judgment.  I practice therapy in a safe, supportive environment and meet you where you are in life. As a therapist, I am warm, open, encouraging, and direct. I consider myself an active therapist, combining experience, education, creativity, and sense of humor with a down-to-earth, realistic approach to counseling.

I love working with:

  • Military
  • College students
  • Young adults
  • Teens (16+)
  • Adults
  • Families with TEENS
  • Anxiety, OCD, Depression

Some of my favorite approaches include:

Rather than adopting one methodology for all individuals and issues, I draw from a variety of methods to create a tailored and holistic approach for each individual and situation.

  • CBT
  • ACT
  • Solution Focused
  • etc.
