Who am I?
Willing to work with clients of all ages, I am ready to help those who are at a crossroads and need direction. I use talk therapy and a goal-oriented approach to address hardships in clients’ lives, such as relationship struggles or personal transitions. Because I acknowledge that therapy can be tough, I also make it a beautiful process by lending a listening ear and providing the tools people need to become the best versions of themselves!
Both my undergraduate and graduate studies were completed in Social Work at Virginia Commonwealth University. Although it was always my goal to work with individuals in a private practice setting, I spent the first 5 years of my career as a hospice social worker. This gave me experience in treating issues of terminal illness, grief, life transitions, anxiety, depression, crisis intervention, and more. As an LCSW, I believe in creating a safe space for individuals to express and cope with their emotions.
I love working with:
Teens and adults seeking guidance through:
- Anxiety
- Life transitions (moving, college, retirement etc)
- Grief and loss
- Struggles with self-esteem
- Relationship issues (romantic or otherwise)
Some of my favorite approaches include:
- Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)
- Talk therapy
- Art therapy
- Dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT)
