Who Am I?
I am an Army veteran, wife, and mom, who loves to travel and go on adventures. My husband and I have decided that life is full of surprises, so we have been taking turns crossing off items on our bucket lists while we are still relatively young. I love planning something that seems impossible and then working towards the goal. My favorite moments in recent years were running a marathon, standing at Mt. Everest Base Camp, and standing on top of Mt. Kilimanjaro.
We recently moved to Virginia from Hawaii, where I completed my master’s degree and became a licensed clinical social worker. I have spent the last three years working with soldiers in a behavioral health clinic on a military facility.
I decided to become a social worker while I was a foster parent and realized that children in the foster care system have no voice, and their future depends upon the team assigned to them. We had both good and bad experiences with our social workers, and I was determined to be one of the good ones.
I love working with:
Soldiers, veterans, and parents. As a Christian, I also enjoy spiritual counseling.
Some of my favorite approaches include:
DBT, EMDR, and ACT
