Who Am I?
Hello, my name is Casey Carroll. I consider myself a North Carolina native, although I grew up as a military child and lived in multiple states. I am new to the Richmond area and loving it already. My passion for helping others started at an early age, and I always knew my career would reflect that. Being a therapist is where I found that my passion for others could really come to fruition.
I attended Methodist University where I majored in Social Work, double minored in Psychology and Professional Tennis Management, and played on the tennis team there all four years. I went on to receive my Master’s in Social Work at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. I completed my internship practicum hours at a private practice. There, I worked with a wide range of clients using a variety of approaches, sharpening my therapeutic knowledge and skill.
I believe that being able to collaborate with my clients one-on-one through therapy is a special gift. Our client-to-therapist relationship is the most important element. I will strive to partner with my clients as an active change agent in their life. My hope for my clients is for them to feel comfortable with me and to reach the goals they are working towards to live a fulfilled life.
I love Working With:
- Children
- Teens
- Young Adults
- Families
- Couples
Some of my favorite approaches include:
I can offer my clients a positive therapeutic relationship and unconditional positive regard. My approach to therapy is to use various approaches regarding my client’s current needs and goals. I like to use a holistic approach touching on all aspects of my client’s life, focusing on my client’s strengths alongside:
- Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)
- Solution-oriented, solution-focused (SFT)
- Motivational interviewing
- Structural family therapy
- Christian biblical meditation
