Carson Craun, LCSW

Who am I?

Born and raised in Virginia, I love traveling, spending time with family, playing outside with my dog, and helping clients learn life-long coping skills.  I strive to help families, children, and young adults explore, understand and handle their emotions.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Bachelor’s degree from Longwood University, and a Master’s degree in social work from Virginia Commonwealth University. My experience includes serving as Social Services Coordinator at a local hospice.  Along with guiding and counseling clients and their families at the end of life, I have experience providing treatment to children in a residential psychiatric center.

In order to tailor my techniques to better suit the needs of each individual, I use a variety of therapeutic interventions. Everyone has stressors in their life, and sometimes we need a little guidance and support in learning how to deal with them.

I love working with:

  • children
  • teens
  • young adults
  • those in the LGBTQIA+ community who are navigating anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, trauma, and life changes

Some of my favorite approaches include:

Perspectives based on personal strengths, such as:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
  • Mindfulness
  • Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT)
