Ashley Ruggerio, LPC, ATR-BC

Who am I?

Hi! I’m Ashley Ruggerio. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Board Certified Registered Art Therapist who is passionate in providing therapy to individuals of various ages who are seeking healing and wellness. Whether you have experienced trauma, grief and loss, a life transition, or even just a season of not feeling quite yourself, I am here to help you heal and grow through the challenges you are experiencing.

After graduating from Longwood University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences, I went on to study Art Therapy and Counseling at Eastern Virginia Medical School, graduating with my Master’s Degree in 2018. After graduating, I was a Resident in Counseling at a local Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Agency where I acquired most of my hours for licensure. I began working at Abundant Life Partners in March of 2021. I became a Licensed Professional Counselor and Board Certified Registered Art Therapist the same year.

In addition to being a therapist, I strongly value a work, family, and life balance to create holistic wellness in order to be the best version of myself for my family, friends, and clients. When I am not providing therapy, I am most likely enjoying time being a mom and wife, traveling, playing with my pups, or spending time in nature.

I love working with:

I enjoy working with children ages 3+, pre-teens, and adult women. Specializing in domestic violence, sexual assault, trauma, depression, anxiety, women’s issues, and grief and loss, I work with clients of various ages through individual therapy sessions including some parent-child therapy.

Some of my favorite approaches include:

My therapeutic approach emphasizes Person-Centered while encouraging the integrative use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Art Therapy, Play Therapy Techniques, and Narrative.  My practice of Art Therapy engages the creative spirit with traditional verbal therapeutic approaches to support growth and wholeness for clients of all ages.

Within my therapy space,  I strongly value the therapeutic relationship, creating a supportive, welcoming, and safe environment to walk alongside you in your journey of healing. I will encourage, empathize, empower, and collaborate with you throughout our time together.
