Adelaide Dwyer

Who am I?

Hi! I’m Adelaide Dwyer. I am the Client Care Coordinator and a Resident in Counseling, working to obtain my licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).

I graduated with my Master of Social Work degree from Fordham University, and Bachelor of Social Work degree from Longwood University. Through both of those programs, I have had the opportunity of working with a wide array of populations, and witnessing many others’ life experiences. Each of these encounters have guided me to become a more well rounded social worker, and have deepened my love for guiding others in their healing journey.

Outside of the professional sphere, I enjoy staying active through yoga and pilates, and catching up with family and friends!

I love working with:

I enjoy working with all individuals from all walks of life. In the past I have worked with several different populations, including adolescents who have experienced trauma, hospice patients and their families, as well as those seeking treatment for substance use disorder. I also feel passionate about working with young adults and adolescents experiencing issues related to anxiety, depression, self-esteem, life transitions, and grief.

I believe that therapy can be so impactful in everyone’s lives, even if you feel you don’t exactly have a “reason” to talk to a therapist! Regardless of your reason for seeking help, my goal as your therapist is to provide you with tools to discover your strengths, identify your support system, and establish goals that will allow you to live the life you are striving for.

Some of my favorite approaches include:

I believe in using a person-centered and collaborative approach to help clients in reaching their goals.

Because we as humans all have different experiences and interests, I tailor my work with a client to fit their specific needs and desires, while pulling from evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. I also incorporate the strengths-based approach with every client, and love to use aspects of mindfulness when applicable.

I will be the person to walk with you through all of life’s stressors, providing you with empathy, understanding, and encouragement along the way. I look forward to watching you take back control of your life, and grow throughout your healing journey.
