Medication Management
Abundant Life Partners contracts with a psychiatric nurse practitioner to provide medication management services virtually to clients 12 and over.
Please note that due to restrictions of telehealth, our nurse practitioner does not prescribe stimulant medications. She also only works with clients 12 years and older.
While some mental health conditions can be treated by counseling alone, medication can be a helpful tool to use in your mental health treatment plan. We know that deciding whether or not to utilize medications is a serious matter, and our nurse practitioner strives to help you make the best decision for yourself or your adolescent.
There is a common misconception that psychiatric medications are only used in extreme cases. According to a 2020 CDC study, approximately 1 in 6 Americans received prescription medications for mental health concerns. If you are considering medication, you are not alone!
Our psychiatric nurse practitioner will help you weigh the pros and cons of utilizing medications. Effective medication management can limit the cons including adverse side effects while helping to maximize the benefits of medication which include alleviating symptoms triggered by therapy, addressing biological underpinnings of mental illnesses, and providing some immediate relief from symptoms.
