Life is full of challenges and no one should have to walk through it alone. I believe people were created to live in community with each other, learning, growing, and encouraging one another. Through volunteer and work opportunities, I have had the honor of walking alongside children, adolescents, and young adults through difficult life circumstances by providing encouragement, simply taking a walk, playing a game together, or just being present. I believe inner freedom is found when we invite others into the messiest and most painful parts of our lives to help us process and bring to light our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
My goal in therapy is to provide hope and encouragement to those I serve, helping clients realize that complete healing is possible, and the power to change ultimately lies within themselves. For this reason, I use a collaborative approach to therapy, actively listening to clients and working together to determine the best path forward for change to occur, while guided by a cognitive behavioral (CBT) framework. In addition to trust, I believe humility is one of the most important aspects of the therapeutic relationship, acknowledging that clients are the experts on themselves, and as the therapist, I look to you to help me better understand your experiences and struggles, as well as your hopes and dreams. For successful therapy to take place, I strive to create a comfortable space for hard conversations, knowing that through the pain, healing and peace are found. My desire is to serve those who are hurting in the best way possible by instilling hope and encouraging clients that a life of freedom is not far off.
