Counseling is an opportunity to walk alongside someone struggling with issues that are common to humans, but impacting them in a particular way. I consider it an honor to be invited into someone’s private thought life and seek to use the opportunity to offer perspective, provide encouragement, and nurture growth through difficult circumstances. I have my Master’s of Social Work and additional training through a Foundations certificate in Biblical Counseling through the Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation and 14 years of clinical social work experience. I am currently a Supervisee in Social Work working towards clinical licensure under the supervision of Martha Armstrong, LCSW.
I offer an eclectic therapeutic approach, using aspects of various therapeutic models according to the individual needs of my client. Some of my preferred modalities include:
- Family Systems
- Strength-Based
- Attachment-Based
- Biblical Counseling
- Integrated Christian Counseling
- Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I enjoy working with individuals and couples, teens and adults struggling with a variety of issues including anger management, anxiety, depression, parenting, peer relationships, self esteem, and spirituality. I have specialized training and experience working with family crises, adjustment issues, and cultural adjustment as I began my social work career working with adoptive and immigrant families. I am also available to provide couples and premarital counseling.
Soy bilingue en español y tengo 10 años de experiencia trabajando con familias inmigrantes.
