Richmond Road and Online
I am committed to heling individual adults, couples and families who are coping with addiction/recovery, grief/loss, or trauma to move towards peace and freedom. I use trauma-informed approaches in all my work, along with Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness and strengths-based tools to help my clients achieve their goals.
I am a resident in counseling working towards my LPC and a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC). With couples I use the Gottman Method, as I am trained at Gottman Level 1 and in the Gottman Recovery Module. I am currently completing EMDR Basic Training, and also working towards an AASECT certification in sex therapy.
I bring to counseling my experiences working in the fields of freelance journalism, public relations, and public health. The common thread through all these my professions has been a personal passion for helping individuals, families and communities tell their stories the way they want to tell them. I work with my clients to begin to tell their stories in new ways, and help them move towards the whole hearted life they envision for themselves.
