Hello, my name is Lisa and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I enjoy helping others so much that I made it into a career!
I started this journey with my Bachelor of Arts in Social Work at Rutgers University and went on to earn a Masters of Sciences in Social Work from Columbia University. I have received specialized training in my education including Adolescent and Child psychopathology, working with military members and their dependents and dual diagnosis. The last six years of my career have been focused on Mental Health Crisis Management in a psychiatric inpatient setting and emergency department. Each of my experiences have provided me with the opportunity to work with diverse populations with varying and specific needs. I am passionate about helping others and exploring the uncertainties that arise during transitions and life changes. Whether that’s enrollment in college, starting a new career, difficulties in a transition or the current climate of the population-wide social isolation due to COVID-19. I have vast experience working with children, adolescents, young adults and families. Being a culturally competent social worker, I can be versatile and work with many other age groups and populations. I’m interested in learning more about my clients on a daily basis by utilizing a person centered and strength-based perspective. I integrate attachment based approaches (insight oriented, collaborative, humanistic) utilizing cognitive behavior strategies, motivational interviewing, and solution focused therapy. For younger clients, play based therapy is often implemented as a form of expression. Therapy can be fun while talking about feelings!
My primary goal as a therapist is to assist you in achieving your goals and supporting you through any adversities that may come your way. Therapy is not a “one size fits all” approach— You are the expert of your own life. I will support you in processing past experiences, navigating life's current turns and how to start moving forward with a deeper sense of groundedness.
Specialties: ADHD, Adults, Anxiety, Adjustment disorders, Career Changes/College, Children, Adolescents & Young Adults, Coping Skills, Depression, Family Conflict, Parenting, Grief, Military life changes, Mood Dysregulation, School Issues, Self Esteem & Bullying, Stress, Time Management, Trauma and PTSD
Currently accepting Tricare Non-Network Participating Provider, Aetna, Anthem/Blue Cross Blue Shield, Optum, United Behavioral Health, Cigna, Optima, Magellan, and Out of Network
In the process of credentialing with Medicare
