**On Maternity Leave**
I began my clinical work in 2012 as an intensive in-home therapist working with children and adolescents with a mental health diagnosis. Then I spent two years working with military members and their dependents providing short-term counseling to address issues related to multiple deployments, reintegration, parenting, marital issues, and child behavioral problems. I worked as a therapist at the Peninsula Pastoral Counseling Center for two years, and recently joined Abundant Life Partners in Williamsburg in November of 2019.
I believe the client is the expert on his/her own life. It is my role to act as a process consultant to assist the client with their goals. I have a passion for improving relationships because I believe our connection with others is what gives our lives meaning, and that includes establishing a positive relationship with oneself.
When seeing couples I utilize Gottman Method Couples Therapy, which was developed by John Gottman, Ph.D. as a result of his 30+ years of longitudinal research with couples. I am Level II trained in Gottman Method.
