Because every individual is unique, I believe it is critical for the therapeutic process to be equally unique and client-centered. I use research-based practices that work to challenge negative thoughts, enhance self-compassion, and focus on strengths. Some of my therapeutic approaches are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT and TF-CBT), Narrative Therapy, Grief Counseling, and Self-Compassion Therapy.
My current work primarily focuses on trauma, life changes due to the pandemic, grief, anxiety, and depression. I typically work with children and families, adolescents, college students, and adults.
Growing up I spent many summers working at an overnight camp created for historically underserved children from New York City. My passion for counseling began there where I had the privilege of working with various campers who were in foster care.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and graduated with my MSW from Hunter College's School of Social Work located in NYC. While in grad school, I interned with Haven Academy Charter School, a leader in holistic and preventative care for children in and at risk of being placed in foster care. My clinical experience also includes over 8 years of individual and group counseling in non-profit and private practice settings. While in a non-profit setting, I worked with a small team to establish a community center for children and families where we provided social emotional learning classes, mentoring programs, and parenting groups.
As a therapist I aim to cultivate a safe space to heal, process, and develop. Whether you or your child are going through a crisis or simply looking for an opportunity to navigate past or present experiences, therapy can be beneficial.
